Sgn. Paul Manship Sculp., June 1944. Bronze bust. A small terra cotta portrait relief of Sir Douglas Alexander by Manship is in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This bronze was loaned to the Cornish Colony Museum in 2006 and exhibited in a cataloged retrospective that also included the work of William Zorach and Maxfield Parrish. The exhibition was curated by noted Parrish Author and Scholar Alma Gilbert who was a Founder of the Museum and its Director at the time. Foundry mark, Roman Bronze Corp NY. |
