Details:
The Bamboo lampshade is one of a handful of models produced by Tiffany Studios that incorporated curved panels of glass, a labor-intensive and therefore time-consuming process in which the individual pieces, after being cut, were placed in the kiln and gently heated until they slumped to conform to the contours of the mold. The Bamboo series of lamps, were introduced at some point shortly before the firm's initial price list, published in 1906, and appear to have been discontinued around the publication of the updated edition in 1913 most likely due to the time and cost of their production. Special value is given to those examples with original bamboo bases and matching finials.
