Rectangular plank top above a conforming case with two frieze drawers flanked by pierced scrolls above and a cabinet door, the whole densely carved and painted with panels of strapwork cartouches within molded and guilloche borders, the sides with a pair of iron bail handles, on later bun feet, with applied typed canvas labels 'BAE 116' to the drawers and the back. A related cabinet with the same paneled construction in the Lázaro Galdiano Museum, Madrid, is illustrated in L. Feducki, Spanish Furniture, New York, 1969, p. 126, fig. 115. |
