18th/19th century or earlier composite. Maximillian style, circa 1520 - 1680, on a wooden base. Plaque Silesian crowned black eagle with silver crescent wood carving. Metal shoulder pieces, center chest plate round in front, indicating a person engaged in jousting on horse. Stomach protrudes so armor given space for early 'German belly'. 2 metal leg panels with plate on leg, knee, ankle and foot. Feet and fingers have moveable parts, with leather gloves. Also with lance joisting sword, has area to protect lower arm. |
