circa 2000 B.C. Third Dynasty of Ur. The tablet has been examined and translated by Vaughn Emerson Crawford, curator of the department of ancient Near Eastern art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The tablets text describes the offering of sheep to the goddess Inanna. Documents: Original correspondence & translation from 1965, between the owner, Vaughn E. Crawford and the metropolitan museum of art.
