A rare Janissary guard sword with royal monogram 'AR' under crown (King Augustus II. 1697 - 1733) on both sides, and two piece brass karabela style hilt with traces of silvering. The Janissary Corps consisting of four companies with one hundred men each, stationed in Dresden and Warsaw was formed in In 1729 by Colonel Christoph von Unruh formed and disbanded in 1731.
