Sgn. WC '77. Stack laminated walnut base. Beverly Hafner Collection. To be included in Wendell Castle: A Catalog Raisonne 1958-2011. Beverly Lucks Hafner was born in 1934 in Rochester NY. She graduated from Syracuse University, with a degree in Interior Design in 1956. Her first professional assignment was to render the private suite for Walt Disney in Disneyland. Inspired by the success of those initial endeavors she opened her own company, Hafner Associates, Inc. Gannett newspaper heralded Hafner Associates as Rochester’s Premier Design Firm. She was awarded the Scalamandere Historic Preservation Award for the Sibley House conversion into the corporate headquarters for Schlegal Manufacturing. Hafner Associates is also cited in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Design and listed in the top 100 design firms in America.
