Martin Friedman was an American mid-century artist, known for his oil paintings of boats, landscapes, and seascapes. He was influenced by the works of Albert Pinkham Ryder and Rembrandt. Friedman’s work became a synthesis of visual experiences, a transfer from a visual experience to a tactile and plastic quality, and relationships in color and texture.
