Ken Danby (Canadian, 1940-2007)
Ken Danby was a prominent Canadian photo-realist painter and avid print maker who created highly realistic paintings that study everyday life. Early in his career, Danby experimented with abstract expressionism. Inspired by the work of Andrew Wyeth, he discovered that photo-realism was his artistic calling. He favored egg tempera even though it was a challenging medium. Today, Danby’s works are owned by numerous private and public collections.
