Details:
Henri Louis Levasseur (French, 1853-1934)
Henri Louis Levasseur was a French artist who studied under Eugene Delaplanche, Emile Thomas, and Auguste Dumont. His works were cast extensively by Society des Bronzes of Paris. Levasseur was deeply influenced by the Art Nouveau movement and this affinity for naturalism would continue to impact the works he created in the Art Deco taste. His oeuvre is almost entirely figural with a broad range that includes historical figures, mythological subjects, religious figures, and his later contemporary themes of labor, industry, and brotherhood.
