Details:

Note: This window is an example of Tiffany studios figural designs, circa 1910. Depicting an angel with clasped hands as if in prayer. The simple design of the plain columns that flank the figure is in contrast to the richly colored Tiffany Drapery Glass which fills the opening. It has been professionally cleaned, and restored, with attention to keeping original glass intact. The face hands and feet had substantial fading of the painted layers and have been carefully restored by the use of plating, (this process involves repainting the missing details on separate pieces of very thin glass which is then fitted over the original to restore the look while still retaining all the original glass). Then fitted into a sturdy frame ready to be finished and installed.
While looking at this window you notice the whispy white rippled drapery glass that forms each delicate feather of the large angel wings. Backed with a layer of steel blue and pink opal, which adds depth and dimension. Being the same color as the sky, also gives it a translucent feel as if your looking through the feathers. Contrasting that with the dark green and brown rippled glass used in the background surrounding the figure, helps to set off the wildly textured drapery glass used in the gown. When you look at the electric blue skirt you can see how the artists manipulated the hot glass to form the folds of fabric bunched at the feet giving lifelike form and texture.
The blue and purple sarong like garment is folded and shaped to fit the figure and give glowing highlights as it wraps around and is tied in front to define the waistline. With more of electric blue drapery glass forming the sleeves and blouse to contrast the subdued flesh.
