Details:
Duayne Hatchett has developed a personal mode of expression that defines physical beauty and solicits a universal response. His work has encompassed a broad and diverse artistic spectrum, from the Mexican influenced printmaking and painting of the late 1940s to the found object junk metal sculpture of the 1950s and early 1960s, to the architectonic sculpture and minimalist painting of the 1960s through 1970s, and on to the abundant paintings, sculpture and printmaking of the last forty years. His unique visual language has been created through the ingenious manipulation of various materials, the discovery of techniques and processes, and the invention of tools. This is work that conveys a powerful, clear, and unified expression of form, reflecting our environment specifically and generally. His artworks invite both interaction and contemplation, allowing us to unlock our memories and our senses through the act of observation.
