Circa 1880, black slate, patinaed bronze sculpture and mounts. Open escapement. A good 19th century bronze figural clock with Farcot's patented conical pendulum. Gilded Roman numerals, silvered chapter ring. 8-day time and strike, skeletonized movement with engine turned bezel, adjustable brass and steel pendulum with gilded bronze mounts and navy blue globe with gilded stars. Rear plate with "Anchor" trademark, serial #16673. Black slate case surmounted by a classical draped bronze figure of Urania, the Greek Muse of astronomy, by Jacques Fauginet. |
